OUR SERVICES:
This page is our opportunity to explain hypnosis and how it can work for you.
Simply put, hypnosis is a greater state of awareness of the mind than you experience during your waking hours and critical thinking processes. Hypnosis resembles sleep, yet is distinct. During hypnosis, you may experience heightened sensations, increased suggestibility, and deep relaxation.
Hypnosis is NOT sleep, loss of control, being controlled by someone else, or weak-mindedness. In fact, hypnosis requires your willingness to be successful.

HOW HYPNOSIS WORKS:
The mind is functionally divided into the conscious and subconscious. Hypnosis works by first progressively relaxing the conscious, or critical thinking, mind. This then allows the subconscious, or creative, mind to come to the forefront and accept helpful suggestions for change.
When we can quiet the critical mind and offer new concepts to the subconscious, we can bring about powerful change. The subconscious mind houses our imagination and creativity; it gravitates to the most positive thought offered. |
WHAT A SESSION IS LIKE:
A typical clinical hypnosis session consists of a preliminary interview, discussion about hypnosis, and the desired results. Then, with the use of progressive relaxation using the therapist's voice, the client enters a state of light to deep relaxation. This allows the therapist to offer to the subconscious helpful suggestions which are in line with the desired change.
Because the conscious mind accepts from the subconscious suggestions which are in keeping with the client's best interests, and because hypnosis is so simple and natural, the success rate is very high. The number of sessions required depends on the client's motivation and the issue of concern, but in many cases only one or two sessions are needed. Cost of sessions is $115, cash or check only, with smoking cessation costing $195 (total) for two sessions.
